One of the methods used in obesity and metabolic surgery is gastric sleeve (stomach reduction) surgery. The stomach is reduced in size during the operation. Laparoscopic surgery is used during the procedure to remove a large portion of the stomach. The procedure is known as sleeve gastrectomy surgery since the remaining stomach resembles a tube. It is a highly effective surgery on appetite control and the feeling of satiety due to the hormone called Ghrelin secreted from the removed part of the stomach.

The patient should follow the recommended diet and exercise routine during the post-operative period.

What Is The Recovery Process?

Patients experience less postoperative pain than with other open surgeries because surgery has done laparoscopically.
● Following the procedure, painkillers are administered to patients based on their pain tolerance and the level of pain they experience.
● Following the operation, the patient is tested for leakage and its presence is investigated. Every patient who has undergone the procedure is kept under observation for 2-3 days in the hospital.
Since the surgery has doone laparoscopically, no special care is required. The person can take care of oneself while in the hospital. In desk jobs, patient could go work in a week after the surgery however patient works in a physically demanding job, returning time may take up to one month. The patients benefit greatly in terms of aesthetic appearance since this operation has done laparoscopically. The scars fade away within a few months of the operation.

How Long Should International Patients Stay For Surgery?

Our patients must stay for at least seven to eight days. No flight permits will be issued prior to this date.
